Climate: Temperate continental with clearly marked four seasons. A Mediterranean influence is felt in the southern regions of the country. The average annual temperature is 10.5 º C. The average January temperature is around 0ºC and the summer temperature vary around 30ºC.
Location: Bulgaria is situated in Southeastern Europe and occupies the east part of Balkan Peninsula. On the north is bordered by Romania, on the west by Serbia and FYROM ( Macedonia ), on the south by Greece and Turkey and on th east by Black Sea.
Relief: Extremely varied, large plains and lowlands, low and high mountains, valleys and lovely gorges. The most famous mountains are Rila, Pirin, Rodopean mountains and Stara Planina mountain range. Bulgarian relief is also famous with the Rose Valley, where the best red roses grow and the "Queen of the roses" fest takes place.
Language: The official language is Bulgarian. English, German, French and Russian is spoken in the country's resorts, hotels and restaurants.
Alphabet: Cyrillic. Signs along international motorways, airports, hotels, resorts, streets etc. are also spelled in Roman letters.
Religion: Dominate the Orthodox Christians (86,6%). There are also Muslims (13%). The Bulgarian church is autonomous and headed by a Patriarch.
